Draft: Life and Death [TASTE OF CHERRY & NOCTURAMA]

Comparing two films as radically different as Taste of Cherry and Nocturama, being as they are from entirely different filmmaking traditions, nationalities, and even time periods, may seem like a fool's errand. But core to these two disparate and immensely ambitious films is an obsession with
